“I always seem to get it in badly, and I can never tell if my stack offs are standard or not.”
“I never know when to play for stacks in three-bet pots.”
Here’s one of my favorites..
“It feels like whenever I pick what I feel to be a great spot to bluff, my opponents always have it or make a good call against me. And whenever I have the nuts, they always fold to my value bets!”
These are common gripes from players of all skill levels - but you know something?
Back in the day, I would spend literally hours after my sessions running equity simulations - and in many cases I had to get it in terribly or lose a big pot in order to really nail down the equities in my head — as they say, sometimes the best lessons are the most expensive.
So looking back, I honestly would’ve DIED to have all of the important equity matchups in one place, so I could memorize them, and avoid making terrible stack offs in the future.
